Jaime Herrera considers Congress →
Herrera is a Beltway Republican apparatchik who is steeped in the ways of DeLay’s bareknuckle Washington. The national party would love to see her win this seat. The question is can she navigate a 3rd district primary which promises to be chock full of Tea Party voters? Will she be able to convince them she’s one of them when, in fact, she’s the polar opposite? More...

Binion's is closing its hotel →
I believe Binion’s has closed its hotel a time or two in the past. This was before they were completely shut down prior to being taken over by Harrah’s. Some of my fondest Vegas memories took place in and around the Horseshoe. It’s sad to see it once again on hard times. This doesn’t bode well at all for the future of downtown.

Sully goes silent →
What an interesting development. The guy is doing the one thing the rest if the media for some reason cannot.
Government and its associated politics are both incredibly important to this republic. Unfortunately one if our two major parties has abdicated their responsibility to both, preferring to turn both into entertainment and marketing vehicles designed to separate their followers from their...

“Last month, India purchased 200 tons of gold at $1,045 an ounce, before the price topped $1,108 on Monday.”
200 tons? Wow. And apparently the Chinese aren’t far behind. Yipes!
Integrating with Twitter
We’ll see how it goes integrating Tumblr with Twitter. My apologies to my Twitter friends if this creates havoc.
Is she funnier than me? →
My problem is I try to keep my humor dry and deadpan which is exactly the type of humor I can never read, particularly from the opposite sex. So when I fond someone funnier than me (Betty with Sunglasses) it takes me a while to catch on.
It’s the ones who try too hard that always annoy me. Or laugh at everything I say. Shoot back your best line and you’ll likely have me forever. This...
Papa Murphy's is for sale? →
Well, the mothership is. I wonder why.
Baird's voting no →
Is his seat that unsafe? It’s true that the district leans to the right, but it’s also leery of sending another tea bagger to Congress, which is exactly what the Clark County GOP will do.
That said, I’m guessing Pelosi knows she has the votes and released some members to “vote their conscience”. Idaho’s Minnick made a similar announcement yesterday. If...
The Big Dither →
Ricks is right. I understand whatever Obama decides will have consequences ling after he leaves office, but at this point I don’t believe there’s anything additional to be discovered or analyzed that hasn’t already been analyzed or discussed for the last 8 years. Another three weeks won’t change anything.
What is your decision, Mr. President?

This should end well.
Would you believe 650,000? →
This number has jumped all over the place in the last 12-hours. All the administration knows is it’s between zero and 300-million. As my high school chemistry teacher used to say…it’s close enough for government work.
Safeway cuts prices →
Interesting their example is ice cream, a luxury item. I wonder if the 25% thing extends to meat and dairy too. I’m guessing no.

Reid is far too spineless to ever do something like this. It would be fun to watch Joe squirm though.

Grab a mop →
Were this uttered by Geirge Bysh in 2005, it would be shouted from the mountaintops by the conservative and mainstream media. Instead, he mocks the do-nothings on the present-day right, and we get crickets. You know who DOES need to grab a mop…Harry freaking Reid.

I think Checketts approached Limbaugh because a) Limbaugh loves the NFL, b) Limbaugh has a soft spot for his home state of Missouri, and c) he has a vault-full of cash. Smart move by Checketts. Unfortunately in his rant, Rush revealed why it would have never worked. It could have, I suppose, but I don’t think Rush was all that serious.
